  1. Not enough room to expand inside the pan
  2. Rolling the dough too tightly during shaping

How to avoid this or fix it if it happens:

  1. Avoid stretching the dough while shaping.
  2. Use slightly larger pans. (For example, 9-inch instead of 8-inch pans.
  3. If the center pops up, gently push the rogue part of the roll back down inside after baking and before the rolls cool and set.
